Ceci n’est pas un poubelle

This sign lives in my friend’s kitchen in West Oakland, California. The size of this container and its position on the floor absolutely gives trash can. I shudder to think of the tragedy that inspired this sign.

As an aside, I’m quite partial to signs that anthropomorphize the objects they emblaze. You are not a trash can, young bucket. Get it.
