I help simplify user experiences using language and design. My approach combines narrative techniques, design principles, and technical know-how to make technology feel more human.
Since 2012, I’ve crafted words that make technology speak clearly, helping Google, Asana, Yelp, and Zendesk say exactly what they mean. I eventually expanded into UX, realizing that combining narrative craft with human centered design unlocks a deeper level of clarity.
I’ve defined product ontologies, established language standards for ML models, and designed workflows that scale content. I’m obsessed with making complex systems feel natural and human. I care because complexity fragments knowledge—fewer people grasp the whole picture, expertise becomes siloed, and we all lose ground. I want to make tools that help people cut through this mess and solve the real problems facing us all.
In my spare time, I publish a free weekly newsletter on process, craft, and connection. I’m also a producer of the Oregano Shirt podcast, and a co-author of the Smallish Book, a collaboration on the philosophy of language and design.
